Interpersonal therapy (IPT) helps us to identify the links between the symptoms of depression and our relationships.

When we’re able manage relationship problems more effectively, our symptoms of depression will often improve.

In turn, if we can reduce the symptoms of depression, our relationships often improve. You and your therapist will identify one of the four areas that IPT focuses on:

  • Conflict with another person.
  • Adjustment to life changes.
  • Grief and bereavement.
  • Difficulties in starting or maintaining relationships.
