Once we receive your referral, we will arrange an initial telephone assessment appointment with you. This appointment will be with one of our trained practitioners, at a time which is convenient for you.

The assessment is a supported conversation, which gives you the opportunity to tell us about the difficulties you are experiencing at the moment, in your own words. From this, we can tell you what options may be able to help with those difficulties and come to a shared decision about the next steps.

The assessment usually takes up 30-45 minutes and we would advise you to be in a quiet and private place to complete this call.

It’s normal to feel nervous before the assessment, especially if you haven’t done anything like this before. You should be proud that you have taken such a positive step towards helping yourself!

Once the initial assessment has been completed, based on the information provided, your practitioner will explain the most appropriate treatment options. You will be sent our service leaflet, to give you an idea of what to expect, and asked to complete a set of questionnaires.

In some cases, if we feel our service is not the right support, then you will be signposted or referred to other relevant services that can help.
