We wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas!
But we do also know that Christmas can be a really tough time, particularly if you or someone you love is unwell. If this is you, you are certainly not alone.
If you’re finding the festive period difficult and you need some support, or if you’re worried that you can’t keep yourself safe, here are some ways you can get support:
Contact Samaritans on 116 123 (free)
Samaritans provide 24/7 emotional support over the phone. They offer a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way – about whatever’s getting to you.
Text SHOUT to 85258 (free)
Shout is the UK’s first 24/7 text service, free on all major mobile networks, for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help.
Call SANEline on 0300 304 7000 (local rate)
Open 4.30pm – 10.30pm daily, SANEline offers one-to-one support for those times you feel you need it most. This could be when you have a problem with your own mental health, or when someone close to you is struggling.
Go to your nearest A&E department
Contact your GP out of hours
If you are not in immediate crisis, you can refer yourself to one of our NHS talking therapy services. You can find the list of services here: www.insighthealthcare.org/our-services/talking-therapies/find-a-service.
All the best to you and yours this Christmas!
