Nick explains more about interpersonal therapy (IPT), which is one of the free, confidential talking therapies we offer.

Nick: Interpersonal therapy, or IPT for short, is an evidence-based treatment that is recommended for depression. In IPT, your therapist will help you work on any current difficulties you’re experiencing as a result of your depression, and explore how your symptoms may be affecting the quality of your interactions with other people and relationships with other people in your life.

IPT can focus upon conflict with another person, life changes that may be throwing up challenges for you, grief, or loss of a significant person in your life, or starting and keeping relationships. The main focus is chosen collaboratively between you and your therapist during treatment.
