Danniella talks you through what happens once you submit your referral for our free, confidential talking therapies.

Danniella: Once you have submitted your referral you will be contacted by our Patient Coordinator team to book in for an assessment. An assessment is usually about 45 minutes long. In the appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your main difficulties and symptoms with a trained practitioner, usually a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, and come to a shared decision about next steps and what treatment may be suitable for you. This may be within the service, or they can signpost you to other services who may be able to help.

You will be asked to complete ‘outcome measures’, called the Minimum Data Set, before each appointment. These measures help us to check that the treatments that we offer are the right ones for you, to ensure the treatment is evidence based for the symptoms you are experiencing, and to help us to measure your progress with any treatment in subsequent sessions. They are also anonymised, and services are measured on how effective they are nationally by the NHS.
