Alesha tells us about her experience of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) and how webinars helped her to overcome it.

Alesha: For as long as I could remember, I’ve been a worrier. It got worse when we were buying our first house and we had just gotten engaged. Things at work were really unsettled and it just felt like everything was building up at once. I had this constant sense of dread that it was all going to go wrong. Therapy helped me understand myself better and I could see how these worries were affecting me physically. I was tense, I had headaches and my sleep was really poor. Even though I was so tired, as soon as I would get into bed, that was when my mind would start racing, I just couldn’t switch off.

I chose to attend webinars because I could do the sessions from the comfort of my own home and around work. It meant that I didn’t have to say anything if I didn’t want to, which gave me the confidence to do it. I learned all about anxiety and strategies to help me better manage my worries, and I found that understanding my anxiety helped me make small changes that made a big difference.

It was good to be able to use the chat function to ask questions to the PWPs, who answered really quickly.
