£1,000 bonus payable upon successful completion of 6-month probationary period!

In this varied role, you will primarily be supporting the PWP Team Lead, and the wider Step 2 team in every aspect of their day-to-day work inclusive of providing supervision, pastoral care, line management, managing annual leave and sickness absences, assistance with decision making and treatment plans, monitoring and agreeing levels of risk, general queries and problem solving. Within this is responsibility for the staff that you line manage, ensuring agreed and expected clinical activity is maintained weekly. Being flexible, open, fair and honest in your work, you will be actively involved in the development of the Step 2 staff group, assisting with the training of PWP trainees, as well as promoting and encouraging professional development.

Clinical responsibilities will further include the screening of incoming referrals to the service for risk and suitability, determining levels of risk presented and co-ordinating the development of robust, risk management plans. You will be able to carry a client caseload, delivering effective, low intensity interventions, whilst meeting your own performance targets. You will deliver a Step 2 Caseload of 0.4 FTE across a working week.

Working as part of the Step 2 management team will involve effective communication, adhering to the values of the service and organisation, and being positive and enthusiastic in your work, setting an example to the rest of the Step 2 team. 

About you

We would love to hear from you, if you possess the following:

  • A qualified PWP, through one of the following routes: PG/UG certificate in Low Intensity Interventions from a recognised BPS accredited PWP training provider OR MSci Applied Psychology integrated with PWP qualification with dual BPS accreditation as PWP training OR PWP Apprenticeship training qualification from a BPS accredited PWP training programme
  • Experienced in delivering effective low intensity therapies for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression and mild mental health difficulties
  • Have a PWP Supervision qualification and be able to provide highly regarded supervision to other PWPs and PWP Trainees.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other disciplines to deliver an excellent service
  • Able to meet performance targets and support your colleagues to develop their practice in order to achieve their own performance targets
